Significant ocular symptoms of high blood pressure - do not neglect your view
Hair, like the blood vessels in your eyes are just as
sensitive, if not more sensitive to damage caused by high blood pressure.
If you are experiencing blurred vision accompanied by headache, you may have symptoms
of high blood pressure. The only sure way to diagnose these symptoms is to
do your eyes examined by a professional eye care.
Eye examination is usually performed using an instrument
that is light on the back of the eye where the optic nerve and macula are. What
the examiner is looking for is:
Signs of seepage arterioles, the small blood vessels
supplying the area with oxygen and nutrients.
Any sign that the vessels are reduced in size.
Swelling of the optic nerve or macula
Spots on the retina, sometimes called cotton wool spots.
If one or more of these conditions are met, the examiner may
make a fluorescein angiography, which is essentially the introduction of dye
into the blood system and see how it moves through the eyes. With this test,
the examiner will confirm the blockage, leakage or accumulation of fluid in the
eye.
If blood pressure affects your eyes you can be
diagnosed with hypertensive retinopathy. If this condition is not
treated, it could lead to loss of sight. There is no local solution. Your
doctor will diagnose you as having hypertension and recommend therapy.
When we think of high blood pressure is generally
thought to a stiffening of the arteries and plaque buildup in veins. However,
the effects of the disease can strike the same. Smallest and most fragile blood
vessels RAP is a serious disease that can rob you of your sight, lead to
kidney failure, or the most common symptoms, congestive heart failure and
stroke.
If you are diagnosed with BPH take your serious
treatment. If you are placed on medication and have undesirable side effects,
talk to your doctor about a change in dosage. Do not stop taking your medicine
without a plan B.
